BRENDAN INGLE, the venerable
Sheffield trainer, had every right to
be over the moon in Doncaster last
Friday. His WBC light-welterweight
champion Junior Witter had scored
the most compelling win of his career,
flattening former WBA title-holder Vivian
Harris in seven rounds.
But perhaps the excitement got the better of
him. Ingle was wrong when during the postfight
interview on Sky Sports he took a dig at
this magazine, saying he was amazed that we'd
tipped Harris to win. We didn't.
He followed that up by saying we clearly
didn't know what we were talking about.
Actually, we didn't just name the winner, but
picked the round.

MATTHEW HATTON could be lining
up an IB0 welterweight title
challenge to skilful South African
ISAAC HLATSHWAY0 on the
December 8 card in Las Vegas
topped by his brother.
It all depends on whether
Hlatshwayo retains in Penrith,
Sydney on October 12 against
undefeated Aussie champion Robert
Medley.
Hlatshwayo's promoter Rodney
Berman confirmed the offer was on
the table. He sees a win over the
younger Hatton as a way to
challenging Ricky.

ITS not too often in boxing that the
right thing is done. The Versus channel,
however, attempted to do just that
when it hosted lightweight Miguel
Angel Huerta for the second time
in a little over two months.
The first time he appeared on the
network, on June 14, Huerta faced the
heavily favoured Almazbek
Raiymkulov, AKA"Kid Diamond."
Huerta clearly bested Diamond over
the course of 12 rounds but two judges
robbed him.
