ROY JONES may face ANTHONY
HANSHAW, finalist in Showtime's
super-middleweight tournament,
on that network in June or July.
If Jones wins, he will possibly
face world middleweight champion
JERMAIN TAYLOR in the autumn.

ERIK MORALES, on his last legs, is
to get a final 'world' title tilt when
he challenges DAVID DIAZ for the
WBC lightweight belt in either
Chicago or San Antonio in July.
Morales has lost four of his
last five, the last two by stoppage
to Manny Pacquiao, yet HBO are
poised to televise the event on payper-
view in America.
Morales is somehow rated No. 4
in spite of his form and the fact
that in his only contest at lightweight,
in September 2005, he
was outpointed by Zahir Raheem.

CLIFTON MITCHELL makes his debut
as a promoter tomorrow (Saturday
March 31), when he stages a dinner
show in hometown Derby topped by
local girl Juliette Winter against an
African.
Mitchell is a fan of women's boxing
and is doing this to help them. He has
three women pros in his One Nation
gym, and two box on the show
tomorrow.

THE toughest job on the UK team
has fallen to local Buchanan, a neatboxing
25-year-old who isn't much of
a puncher and has been out of the ring
for 16 months (couldn't get fights).
He goes in with New Jersey-based
Dominican Ravelo, who is on the
periphery of world class, having lost
only to Allan Green and David Lopez
by late stoppages.

DARIUSZ MICHALCZEWSKI last
week summed up the task facing his
fellow-German Henry Maske at a
sold-out Olympiahalle in Munich
tomorrow night (Saturday March 31).
"Maske loses early," he said. "The
condition will not be there. The psyche
will not be there. The expectations are
too big. And Henry can't have better
reflexes than 11 years ago.
