IT SEEMS very unlikely that middleweight Errol Christie
can come back from his third disastrous defeat, this time at
the hands of a relatively unsung American southpaw
Charlie Boston, who dumped him four times in all before
referee Mike Jacobs humanely intervened in the eighth
with Christie on the canvas.

HACKNEY'S Sylvester Mittee thought two days before the
show that he was meeting Kirkland Laing for the vacant
British welterweight title.
But Laing pulled out with flu and Mittee was left to take
out his frustrations on late substitute Indelmar Montano of
Colombia who was stopped after one minute of the third of
their scheduled 10-rounder on the Muswell Hill bill.

DUKE McKENZIE travels to make his first defence of his
European flyweight title at Acqui Terme, Italy against his
official challenger Giampiero Pinna on Wednesday.
This will be Duke's second fight in a row outside Britain,
having had an easy win in the US last month over Lee
Cargle.
