IN MARCH 1985, in the highly charged atmosphere of London's York
Hall, Olympic bronze medallist Bobby Wells stepped into the ring in the
London ABA semi-finals, writes STEVE BUNCE.
Reigning super-heavyweight champ Bob had supposedly drawn the
easiest of the four divisional winners. In the other semi, Fitzroy Lodge's
Guy Williamson had impressively beaten Leyton's Richard Wildman and
the prospect of a Wells-Williamson Albert Hall showdown seemed
inevitable.
