ROY SMITH of Nottingham moved nearer to a shot at the
British cruiserweight title when he outpointed Newport's
Abner Blackstock over 10 rounds in an official eliminator at
the Links Centre.

FORMER British heavyweight champion Hughroy Currie begins the hard
haul back with a demanding 10-rounder against Glenn McCrory in Oldham
on Tuesday on a Jack Trickett promotion at the Queen Elizabeth Hall,
Civic Centre.
This will be Currie's first outing since he was dethroned in six rounds by
Horace Notice on the Isle of Man last April.
