Given De La Hoya was past his best and apparently
weight-drained, beating Oscar was not Pacquiao's most
complete performance. But it was the moment boxing
fans - some of whom had banished the bout as a horrific
mismatch in the American's favour - sat up with their

DERECK CHISORA, who made a
successful return to the ring last
week (see page 19), looks set to
take on Robert Helenius for the
vacant European heavyweight
title in Helsinki on the undercard
of the Alexander Povetkin's WBA
heavyweight defence against
Cedric Boswell on December 3.

winner should take on Alexander
Dimitrenko, the injured former
champion, but "Del Boy" will be
aiming for a world title fight if he
prevails.

attention.
"I'm his father," the former WBO
middle and super-middleweight boss
responded to suggestions that he may
feel jealousy if his boy turns out to be a
better fighter than he. "A father, or any
right-minded father, only ever wants their
son to be better than what he was and
that's something I truly pray for."
