BRITISH and European bantamweight champion Johnny Owen hit top form to dominate official British title challenger John Feenev bv an unexpected^ margin in their domestic title fight. Referee Harry Gibbs scored 149-145V&,' which was an entirely accurate assessment of the contest. Only Owen's British title was at stake, due to the discrepancy in the number of rounds fought for the two titles (15 for British, 12 for European). There's no doubt that British fighters boxing in areas such as Nigeria are placed under a severe handicap by the climate.

American promoter Sam Glass said he was "extremely
