THE World Boxing Council meeting in Mexico was a success. There is no
doubt that this body is more progressive than the rival W.B.A. and might

Johnny Evans (Epsom & Ewell).

NEWPORT teenager Richard Avery will be a threat to the leading Welsh

PROMOTING club featherweight Tommy Dunn
boxed his way to his most important victory by
outscoring former ABA champion Tommy Wright
(Plant Works, Doncaster) on the Reading dinnershow
at the Top Rank Suite.

ABA featherweight champion KIRKLAND LAING (Clifton)
lost his second lightweight contest within 12 days in Leicester
when he was beaten by the Combined Services champion,
TONY MEAKIN (RAF) on a majority points decision.
