THE newly-formed African Boxing Commission has announced
three more pairings for All-African titles. They
are Eddie Blay (Ghana) v Salem Ouedrago (Ivory Coast)
for the welterweight title; Nojim Maiyegun of Nigeria v
Sea Robinson (Ivory Coast), middleweight; and at lightheavyweight,
Ba Sounkalo of Mali v Billy Suze (Zaire).
All three contests are to take place by the end of
March.
In addition, Joseph Sossou of Dahomey meets
Ghanaian Gu Patterson at Abidjan on February 2, in a
final eliminator for the African light-welter title.
Ould Makloufi of Algeria won the lightweight title by
defeating Joe Tetteh, the Ghanian veteran, last month,
and the featherweight crown will be contested between
David Poison (Ghana) and Tahar ben Hassan (Tunis) on
February 2, at Tunis.
