IF a list was compiled of the top 10 British-based
fighters since the war, Hogan "Kid" Bassey would

Games in Havana, Cuba
this August, was weakened
badly when three
costly injuries and two
surprising upsets occurred
at the 1974 National
A.A.U. Boxing
Championships held in
Knoxville, Tennessee.
The most damaging of
these mishaps was the
broken knuckle suffered
by America's best heavyweight,
EMORY
CHAPMAN of Marietta,
Georgia.
