tournament in aid of the
Leeds Jewish Sportsmen's
Effort at Leeds Town Hall on
Monday, November 25 and
they have arranged for so
many locals to appear on the
bill that they are bound to
attract a full house for this
worthy cause.
THE fight-starved Scots
rallied round to give a
capacity support at the local
Town Hall, when promoter
Sammy Docherty, of Glasgow,
staged Scotland's first professional
tournament for almost
eighteen months.
It must have been very
gratifying for Sammy to see
such an excellent turn out on
this occasion, and encouraging
for his future plans to
stage more
LIVERPOOL'S Billy Hardacre (9-0), won his fourth straight fight since moving up into the
featherweight division at the beginning of the year when he beat Johnny Pearce, Middlesbrough
(9-1), Referee Fred Wintrip stopping the fight after two minutes, forty seconds,
of the seventh round to save the local lad further punishment.
