SUCCESSFUL RETURN. Terry Downes, former World's and British middleweight champion, had
his first bout since November, stopping Jimmy  Beecham of America in nine rounds ot the Seymour Hall.

FRANKIE TAYLOR and LENNIE WILLIAMS. These two bright
young featherweights have captured the imagination of the
fans by their performances, and viewers had the opportunity of
seeing both of them in action at Blackburn last week. Taylor outpointed
Peter LAVERY , and Williams stopped Tommy Atkins in the
first round. As Lennie is known as " The Lion " it was only natural
that Frankie should be referred to as "The Tiger". Now fans are
wondering what will happen when Lion meets Tiger, as they assuredly
must in the not-too-distant future.
