DAVE CHARNLEY suffered the biggest set-back in his hopes
for a third crack at the World lightweight title with his crushing
defeat by little-known Jamaican Bunny Grant.

Tw o Canadian champions in action, with heavyweight title-holder
Bob Cleroux losing a points verdict to American Mike DeJohn
at Miami Beach, and Wilf Greaves successfully defending his middleweight
crown against Blair Richardson in ten rounds at Glace Bay.
And a crowd of around 6,000 saw the latter bout, as compared to
only 2,164 who watched the former. But the Miami Beach bout
was televised.
