Eight days to go to D-Day . . . and British middleweight champion
Terry Downes sends a message from his American training camp to
say he is confident that he can taker the World's title from Paul Pender
at Boston Garden on January 14.
GERMAN Erich Schoeppner, European cruiser champ, may still
get his chance of fighting for the World's title. Last year he
was scheduled to meet Archie Moore, everything was apparently
settled, Schoeppner went overseas for the fight, but the promoters
Feature Sports Inc. failed to agree on a date and venue after originally
arranging it for Toronto.
