RICKY BURNS is still waiting
for his shot at the WBO superfeatherweight
title to be
confirmed. The Scot had planned
to fight the champion, ROMAN
MARTINEZ, on March 20 in
Puerto Rico - and even that date
was later than expected.

TYSON FURY could make his first
appearance in over sb( months on
the Huddersfield Leisure Centre
bill next week (Friday, March 5),
topped by Gary Sykes meeting
either Ricky Burns or Andy Morris
(see above story), it is believed
the final details are still to be
ironed out.

FORMER WBO super-feather
champion NICKY COOK was
offered the opportunity to go for
the European title, which Leva
Kiraitosyan won last Friday (see
page 18), but Scott Lawton got
the fight. "No disrespect to
Scott but I think I had more of a
right to be in that ring," Cook
