THE fight everyone wants to see is on -
Enzo Maccarinelli faces David Haye
on March 8 at a venue to be confirmed.
On the line will be Haye's WBC and
WBA cruiserweight belts and Enzo's
WBO version. The fight will be
promoted by Maccarinelli's promoters
Sports Network. Setanta televise.
Frank Warren's company has no
options on Haye, win or lose, and Haye
said that was a crucial factor in making
the fight.

THE WBC heavyweight title fight
between Cleg Maskaev (pictured
right) and interim champ Samuel
Peter is set to go ahead in the Mexican
beach resort of Cancun on March 8, a
month later than originally planned.
Promoter Don King had to seek a new
venue when Wladimir Klitschko
announced his IBF/WBO title
unification with Sultan Ibragimov for
New York's Madison Square Garden on
February 23.

THE Boxing Board has thrown up
some interesting potential matchups.
New British light-middle
champ GARY WOOLCOMBE has
been ordered to defend against
SheHield's RYAN RHODES.
A final eliminator at
featherweight has been sanctioned
between Scot PAUL APPLEBY and
Northern Ireland's MARTIN
LINDSAY.
If that comes off, it may also be
for the Celtic title as Appleby bids
for that on January 21 against DAI
DAVIES.
The inaugural women's super-fly
title should be decided in a rubber
match between JULIETTE WINTER
and SHANEE MARTIN. Winter won
their first fight but the drawn
rematch was a scorcher.
JOHN McDERMOn and PELE
REID have been ordered to clash
for the English heavyweight crown
vacated by Michael Sprott, supermiddle
holder TONY DODSON must
defend against Northampton's
hungry PAUL DAVID, and MATTHEW
HAHON and ADNAN AMAR should
meet for the vacant welter strap.
Purse bids for all these bouts
are invited by January 9, with the
fights to happen by the end of
April.
There was also good news for
Sheffield welter KELL BROOK; he
has been named mandatory
challenger for the winner of the
British title rematch between Kevin
Anderson and Kevin Mclntyre.

KEIRON Harding, a 17-year-oId from
Penarth ABC, was the master when he
decisioned Cardiff YMCA's Eryk
Jodlowski (23) on Penarth ABC's
dinner show at the Masonic Hall.
Harding, who attends Welsh ABA
coaching sessions at Brecon, used his
reach advantage in the opener to land
left jabs followed by powerful rights
as Jodlowski bustled in with hooking
combinations.
Harding (right in the picture) kept to
his boxing in the second, countering
to effect for a wide points verdict.
Danni GrifBths (St Jos, Newport),
the 2007 WABA Schoolboys
champion, had the hosts' Keiron
Pring in trouble in round two with
solid combinations to head and body.
The referee gave t h e shaken Penarth
boxer a standing count and, although
Pring used the ring well in the last, he
failed to get on terms as Griffiths won
unanimously.
