MIKE TYSON reportedly released
himself from the Meadows Clinic
in Arizona, where he was receiving
treatment for cocaine addiction.
The former world heavyweight
champion, who quit the ring last
June after losing to Kevin McBride,
lasted just five days at the facility.
He was on a 30-day programme.
McBride, meanwhile, is being
touted as first challenger for WBO
champ Sergei Liakhovich in August.

THE rubber match between Manny
Pacquiao and Erik Morales won't be
happening at the outdoor Sam Boyd
Stadium in Las Vegas on September
16 as planned.
Not only was there a disagreement
over weight - Morales wanted to box
at 9st 5lbs and Pacquiao insisted the
Mexican weigh 9st 4lbs - but Oscar
De La Hoya had the date primed
for his farewell match in the city,
assuming he beats Ricardo Mayorga
on May 6.
Now Pacquiao-Morales III looks
as if it will happen in October or
November.

THE 2006 Welsh ABA championships
are taking place without the eight who
went to the Commonwealth Games in
Melbourne last month.
Tomorrow (Saturday April 22) sees
the semi-finals at Tylorstown Sports
Centre in East Street. Weigh-in and
medicals are from 12-lpm with boxing
at 2pm. Admission is £5 for all ages.
