Sinclair's new start
FORMER British welterweight
champion NEIL SINCLAIR has
signed for Stan Hoffman and
will relaunch his career in America.
He will fight out of New York and
be trained by Tracy Harris Patterson.
The move came after he had
gone to the Big Apple to help
Hoffman-managed Raymond Joval
prepare for his fight with Shannon
Taylor in Australia in November.
"After the first day of sparring
they couldn't understand why
nobody wanted to promote me
in Britain," Sinclair told Belfast
reporter David Kelly.
Neil ended up going to Australia
and carrying Joval's belt into the ring.
SCOTT HARRISON'S mandatory
WBO featherweight title defence
against Joan Guzman of the
Dominican Republic, booked for
February 25, has been pushed back to
March now that Danny Williams meets
Matt Skelton on the February date.
Seeing as Scott
(right) sheds a huge
amount of height
for each fight, we
doubt he will mind.
He sheds the
weight sensibly,

RICARDO SAMMS has rejoined the
amateurs after winning three out of
three in the paid ranks.
The 23-year-old Nottingham supermiddleweight
walked into the Phoenix
gym last month saying he had become
"disillusioned" with the pros.
Samms was unhappy with boxing
only three times since making his
debut last March.
Phoenix coach Paul Linley said:
"Ricardo came back to us totally out
of the blue and it was his decision.
"He's going to get his medicals
done and then we're going to look
for opponents. He told me he wants
to box regularly."
