Sports Personality of the Year event
(December 10).
Steve, 36, a former lightweight
who reached the old English semifinals,
had won the BBC South award
for his work in one of the poorest
areas of Swindon.
He was among the 10 regional
winners who rubbed shoulders with
Amir Khan and Joe Calzaghe at the
gala occasion staged at the NEC in
Birmingham.
"It was great to be honoured and
make the final," said Steve. "It's
recognition for both boxing and
Penhill."

AFTER the turkey and Christmas

although the correct one, could well
have been a draw.
