• WORCESTER warhorse
LEEROY WILLIAMSON made
the better start, kept the
momentum going, and
duly took the verdict over
Welling's DARREN COVILL
after a good-value fourthrees
at the Britannia Hotel.
Covill (11st 6 3/4lbs) played his
part in some good exchanges, but
Williamson (11st 3lbs) generally had
the edge and fully deserved his 40-
38 verdict from referee Dave Parris
(officiating throughout).
Covill finished with a swelling
under the left eye and mark below
the right.

• CLINTON and Winston McKenzie
have spoken of their "year of hell"
after finally being cleared of allowing
crack cocaine to be dealt in their
Thornton Heath pub.
The pair were discharged after the
case against them collapsed at
Croydon Magistrates' Court last week.
Specialist officers had stormed
McKenzie Bros, making 25 arrests
for alleged drugs, firearm and
immigration offences last December.
Both Clinton and Winston, who
between them won British, European
and 'world' title fights, strenuously
denied they knowingly let the supply
of crack cocaine take place at the bar.
Clinton, 48, said: "None of our
family even smoke, so to be labelled
as people who take part in drugs is a
total disgrace.

FORMER double ABA
champion and world
bronze medallist
CARL FROCH looks
to continue his rise
through the domestic supermiddleweight
pro ranks when
he meets Manchester's ALAN
PAGE (pictured right) at the
Derby Storm Arena tonight
(Friday, November 28).
The inaugural English 12st belt is
at stake and this 10-rounder doubles
up as British title eliminator to new
champion Tony Dodson.
It is a rearranged main event after
European middleweight king Howard
Eastman pulled out of a defence
against Spain's Jorge Sendra with a
knee injury.
