Light-welter Floyd?
ACCORDING to American sources, WBC lightweight
champ Floyd Mayweather is about to
join the star-studded 10st light-welterweight
division.
Talented Mayweather could make his debut at
the new weight in November or early 2004 and
reports say he may face New York-based
Guyanese Vivian Harris.
Canada's Arturo Gatti has also been mentioned,
though the fearless New Jersey-based warrior is
sidelined for several more months with a hand
injury after surgery

Corrie at home
CORRIE SANDERS' first defence of the WBO
heavyweight title against mandatory challenger
Lamon Brewster is set for Carnival City, South
Africa on October 4. The same show will feature
Cassius Baloyi defending his IBO superfeatherweight
crown against 36-year-old former
WBA bantam and WBC featherweight champion
Luisito Espinosa

Dyer comeback
PORTSMOUTH'S former Southern Area welterweight
champion Paul Dyer is looking to make
a return in September.
Southpaw Dyer hasn't boxed since his epic 10-
round points defeat by Dave Walker in March
2002.
Dyer, who recently turned 33, had his first
professional bout in 1991, though fought only 23
times, winning 15 (one inside) and losing eight.
It has been reported Paul will be guided by
former Chris Eubank trainer Ronnie Davies.

Dodson delight
 LIVERPOOL super-middleweight
TONY DODSON (12st 2lbs 14oz)
was understandably elated by his
third-round retirement win over
Birmingham's VARUZHAN DAVTYAN
(12st 5lbs 11oz) in a scheduled six
which went on last but one before
a handful of fans.
