DON'T book your flight for Las Vegas in January
just yet if you intend to watch Shane Mosley
defend his WBC welterweight title against Oscar

Arum have been locked in talks to find a solution to
the financial differences which are at present hindering
negotiations.

DAVID REID, the former WBA light-middleweight
champion, has not boxed since losing his crown to
Felix Trinidad in March, but escaped serious punishment
for assaulting his girlfriend.
Reid admitted to slapping, biting and dragging
his girifriend down a flight of stairs. The former
Olympic champion was given probation and
ordered to undergo psychological evaluation.
Reid apologised in court and said it would never
happen again.

NASEEM HAMED has completed the fitness side of
his training up at Big Bear, California and will soon
start sparring In preparation for his W/BO featherweight
title defence against American Augie
Sanchez in Ledyard on August 19.
Hamed runs in the evenings and works out in
the gym, sometimes for over two hours, in the
mornings. He Is staying at the home of American
Oscar De La Hoya and using the Golden Boy's gym
facilities.
Trainer Oscar Suarez said Hamed is "ready to
explode" and has been training as if preparing for
a 25-round match.
If successful against Sanchez, Naz Is expected
to defend against undefeated European champion
Istvan Kovacs of Hungary in London on
November 4.
