JOE CALZAGHE'S American debut is again
on hold.
The injury-jinxed WBO super-middleweight
champion from Newbridge in Wales had t)een
scheduled to defend against New Jersey's Omar
Sheika in DeU-oit on June 10, a fight to be televised
live on HBO, but at the weekend it was
called off.

NEIL KIRKWOOD, the big Bamsley heavyweight who
has been out of action for a year-and-a-half, returns on
the May 27 London Hilton show promoted by
Matchroom.
He meets well-built Pole Albert Sosnowski.
Kirkwood is itching to get back, having lost more than
2st since returning to the gym in February.
Neil, with a new team behind him, has won six of
eight, his defeats by Julius Francis (I rsf 7,1995) and
Nikolai "The Beast from the East" Valuev (I rsf 2, '96).
All of his wins have come inside the distance.
