STEVIE JOHNSTON, the American under investigation
for failing a drugs test after beating Billy Schwer at
Wembley last November, is hoping to travel to Australia
to defend his WBC lightweight crown against highlyrated
transplanted South African Lovemore Ndou.
The fight is mooted for June in Melbourne, with
Laila Ali on the bill, though All, floored last weekend
in Detroit (see page 17), will box in Los Angeles on
June 15.
Michelle case
MICHELLE SUTCLIFFE, the Leeds woman boxer, has
won her fight to be freed from a contract with
promoter Rick Manners. The Board heard both sides of
the argument at a meeting last month.
Michelle, now a free agent, said she's open to offers.
Nothing is the pipeline, but she's back in training.
Manners is not expected to appeal.
