THE rematch between CARL THOMPSON and CHRIS EUBANK (pictured)
at the Sheffield Arena on July 18 will be shown in 30 countries

America.
The bill, which at the time of going to Press had 13 fights, also features

JOHNNY NELSON, who hopes to face the winner of the main event,

Another American, JASON PAPILUON, who failed to impress when he
boxed in Cardiff in January, faces a sterner test in MAURICE FORBES.
JANE COUCH has won her
battle with the Boxing
Board of Control, who granted
her a licence this week.
"Jane's formalities a r e complete
and our licence has been
issued," said Board secretary
John Morris. "When she continues
her career she will be boxing
with our full support.
"We have Eilways accepted the
principle of equal opportunities
and our stance was entirely on
medical grounds. But research
into the medical position will
continue with regard to all boxers,
male and female."
Jane's coach, Tex Woodward,
said, "After a long wait and boxing
her last four contests in the
USA, J a n e is now looking forward
to showing her ability in
the UK.
"She has had several suggested
offers f r om promoters, but
until now it has not been permissible
for her to box in this country.
Miss Couch is in full-time
training, fit and ready to box at
short notice."
