• POSTERS for EVANDER
HOLYHELD-MIKE TYSON
were changed last week, but
already rumours - all unconfirmed
- are circulating that
the challenger will not be
ready for their June 28 WBA
title rematch.
Tyson's problem is allegedly
a shoulder injury, and Holyfield
is quoted as saying he suspected
the fight may not happen.
• It has nothing to do with
ORLIN NORRIS, the WBA's
leading contender, who has
gone to court to take out a temporary
restraining order to
prevent Don King from staging
the fight while he is left
on the sidelines.
HIGHLY-REGARDED American
lightweight Sliane Mosley
will challenge IBF champion Phill
Holiday on July 26. First, though,
the tough South African is expected
to defend at home some time
in April.
AUSTRALIAN heavyweight
Craig Petersen was found dead
on April 15 in New Mexico. His
death was thought to be drug-related,
but no confirmation was forthcoming.
The southpaw, who lost in six
rounds to Chris Byrd in Michigan in
January, had 22 wins from 29 fights
with one draw. He was 26.
In October 1989 he lost in four
rounds to Apollo Sweet for the Commonwealth
cruiserweight title, but
moved up to heavyweight the following
year and outpointed Jimmy
Thunder for the Australian title.
MIKE TYSON has put his SI5m
mansion in Farmington, Connecticut
up for sale - in the Barnet
Advertiser^.
The former world heavyweight
champion's property appeared on a
freesheet and was posted to 46,000
homes. The 56,000 sq ft property has
20 bedrooms, seven kitchens, five
dining rooms, four conference
rooms, a theatre, a dance club and
an Olympic-sized swimming pool -
and that's just the inside.
Outdoors there is a basketball and
tennis court, a large pond with a
waterfall and boathouse, a guest
house and servants' lodge.
Perhaps this is an indication that
Iron Mike's entourage has grown
too large?
