HOVE featherweight JUSTIN
MURPHY (9st) was a convincing

Paisley's MARK

on referee Green's scorecard.
IF Wayne McCullough goes on to win a world championship
and have a memorable career, he will always
remember this evening as the one that propelled him
to such status. In his 16 months as a professional,
McCullough had never been truly tested.
All this changed when he had to dig deep to win a gruelling
12-round unanimous decision over the WBC's No. 1
bantamweight contender Victor Rabanales. The match
served as a world title eliminator.
UNBEATEN David Kamau (9st 131bs), Los Angeles,
gave his worst performance since becoming a contender,
but still retained his bogus WBO Penta-Continental
light-welterweight title with a 12-round
majority verdict over rugged, hell-bent brawler Raul
Hernandez (lOst), Bell, California at the Great Western
Forum.
