FORMER Commonwealth
Games champion NEIL SINCLAIR
(lOst 8Ibs lOoz)
came back with a win by
overpowering substitute
ANDY PEACH of Bloxwich
in one minute 43 seconds
of a scheduled six-threes.
Peach (lOst 8lbs) came
forward bravely, but was
caught by a solid left
counter and trapped on the
ropes where he ended up
flopped over the top strand
and f^ing outwards.
Referee Ken Curtis
broke them up and Peach
tried to regroup, but a
right to the side of the head
put him down for one. A
right, then a long left
uppercut, had Peach backing
off and Sinclair opened
up to have his man trapped
on the ropes, again looldng
out over the top.
After two or three unanswered
shots landed, referee
Curtis signalled the end
with Peach bleeding from
the nose and with a nasty
cut under the left eye.

KEVIN HAYDE, promoter
of British super-featherweight
champion Floyd
Havard, has issued a challenge
to Naseem Hamed.
"Floyd and Naseem are
both in the same boat.
They need recognition at
featherweight, so why not
fight each other in a final
eliminator with the winner
to challenger Steve
Robinson?" he said.
"Hamed's got to prove
himself as a featherweight.
The same can be
said of Floyd, but I think it
would be a good move.
"We'd like to get it on
with either Hamed or
Robinson, but Robinson's
trainer Ronnie Rush has
been speaking about Naz
proving himself and that
can easily be taken care of
by facing Floyd.
"Has Naseem fought
anyone of Havard's calibre?
I really don't think so.
"Floyd is credible opposition
for any man on the
planet. I know he lost to
,Iohn John Molina, but he
was a bit special."

RUNCORN'S former Olympic
bronze medallist ROBIN REID
still needs testing, but
Burnley's 6ft 2in southpaw JOHN
DUCKWORTH is unlikely to pose
too serious a problem in a bout
scheduled for eight rounds, writes
CLAUDE ABRAMS.

FRANKIE RANDALL

against unbeaten David
Kamau) on another starstudded
bill at the MGMGrand,
Las Vegas on
September 16 when he
meets Argentinian JUAN
MARTIN COCCI in a
rematch for the WBA
light-welterweight title.
Two other title fights
on the show feature
WBA super-middleweight
champion
FRANKIE LILES in a
defence against former
Chris Eubank challenger
MAURICIO AMARAL and
CARL DANIELS defending
his WBA light-middleweight
title for the
