BACK on the Merseyside boxing scene is Richard Scarth, 19, of Kirkby, who
has been a stable lad with trainer Frank Carr at Malton for the past three
years. Richard, whose riding ambitions have been thwarted by increasing
weight is pictured here with some of the many trophies he won for boxing
while with trainer Carr, including the Sporting Life Challenge Trophy, awarded
for the outstanding performance in the Stable Lads National championships.
He is the eldest of four boxing brothers who are all members of Kirkby
