AMERICA will have enjoyed its first sight of Irish
featherweight star Barry McGuigan who lived up to
his advance billing by pounding New Yorker Paul
DeVorce into defeat in the fifth of their scheduled
10-rounder at King's Hall.
The fight was screened live to America by the
CBS network, who estimated their viewing audience
at around 82 million. The network has an option on
another of McGuigan's fights, but thereafter they
can expect stiff competition from US rivals.

THE career of Alex Ramos continued its erratic path as the
handsome "Bronx Bomber" middleweight found himself
held to a draw by local favourite John Collins in their
Sunday afternoon 10-rounder at Chicago on June 10.

Ramos's chin. He was floored in the third and looked
unsteady at other moments.

REMATCH is on Ray Mancini's mind as the
