FRANK WARREN, having produced two of Britain's most unlikely world
champions in Dennis Andries and Terry Marsh, aims to make it the hat-trick with
Battersea southpaw Sammy Reeson who made a successful first defence of his
European cruiserweight title with an impressive seventh round knockout of
Belgium's Luigi Ricci on a live TV Saturday afternoon show at Blazer's Club.
Reeson's reward is likely to be a crack at the WBC version of the title held by
Carlos DeLeon of Puerto Rico. "I've been in touch with Don King," Warren says,
"and it looks 99 per cent certain that DeLeon will come to London to defend in the
Spring."

KNOCKOUT artist Nigel Benn exploded a
single right hook on the jaw of St Helens
southpaw Ian Chantler to claim a sensational,
16-second win at the Hudson Sports Centre.
Benn, the 23-year-old from West Ham, has
now stacked up 11 professional wins and eight
in the first round. None was
more dramatic than this.

DUTCH heavyweight Arnold Vanderlijde, 24, is hoping for
a gold at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, where he sees Cuban ace
Felix Savon, Michael Bent of t h e U S and Russia's Ramzan
Sebiyev as his main obstacles. But, succeed or not, after that
he is heading for the pro ranks, and expects to get into world
title contention by 1990.

FORMER light-middleweight and middleweight
champion Herol Graham
makes his comeback after the traumatic
setback of forfeiting a world title chance
in his last appearance when he takes on
US import Ricky Stackhouse over 10
rounds as Adwick-le-Street leisure
centre, near Doncaster
tomorrow (Saturday)
