JOURNEYMAN ARTHUR
WEATHERS lasted a mere 105
seconds against world-rated
heavyweight HASIM RAHMAN on
Cedric Kushner's main event at the
Miccosukee Gaming Reservation.
Weathers, whose nickname is
"Stormy", entered the ring in a
shabby white towel, which was the
perfect symbol of his career. It was
a mismatch that matchmaker Ron
Scott Stevens and promoter
Kushner should be ashamed of.
In parcelling out blame, let's not
forget Sean O'Grady, the former
WBA lightweight champion now in

NEIL HOBBS' brilliant display won him the Best Ruislip Boxer trophy at
that club's show at Harrow Borough Football Club on March 19.
The muscular I. Meha from Hanwell was always looking for the big one,
but crafty Hobbs' superior skill and ringcraft won him a unanimous vote.
All four Ruislip boys won their bouts. G. Cotton stopped C. Bowen of
Milton Keynes on a cut eye in the first round, not giving the partisan crowd

STEVE ROBINSON
makes his second bid for
the European featherweight
title in a far
better frame of mind than the
first, despite having to travel to
Spain to tackle Manuel Calvo
for the vacant crown in Leganes
tonight.
Nicky cooks up another treat

HORNCHURCH prospect NICKY COOK (9st lib) scored his third
straight win, all inside the distance, when he knocked out hapless
Bulgarian VASIL PASKALEV (8st 13 l/21bs) in the first of a scheduled
four-rounder.
A jab the nose made Paskalev turn away, which was the signal for Cook to
follow up with two hard rights to send him down by the ropes. The Bulgarian
rose as referee Seamus Dunne completed the count after one minute 25 seconds.
