MICHAEL WATSON'S case against the Board of
Control, who are accused of liability for the former
Commonwealth middleweight champion's
injuries sustained against Chris Eubank in September
1991, started in the High Court on Tuesday (June 8) and
was expected to last six days.
Now 34, Watson is claiming compensation for his
injury and losses, saying the Board owed him "duty of
care" to ensure medical staff with proper training and
equipment needed to resuscitate a fighter in his condition
were on hand that night at White Hart Lane.
The Board, who face severe financial problems
should they lose, are contesting.

FORMER Ipswich and Arsenal footballer Brian Talbot and Northampton
rugby coach Paul Alston were the Guests of Honour on the Bedford ABC
show at the town's Moat House Hotel on May 10.
Topping the bill was a team match which saw a Bedford Select take on Dublin's
Phoenix ABC.
