PAUL INGLE, recovering from brain injuries incurred
from his knockout defeat by Mbulelo Botile last
December, is making progress and back in the gym -
helping Steve Pollard's thriving Hull establishment.
It is good to see Ingle back (he was ringside in
Sheffield in July for the Johnny Nelson-Marcelo
Dominguez show), though his mother was quoted
recently as saying Paul, who has partial memory loss,
has only just realised he can't fight again.
She added: "He was gutted, but he's always been a
fighter and is fighting back now."
The Ingle family is optimistic Paul's memory will
improve as the former IBF champion continues to
receive treatment.

DANNY WILLIAMS is to box on the rescheduled Mike Tyson-Brian Nielsen card
(see separate story) in Copenhagen on October 13. But whether it is against
veteran American TIM WITHERSPOON or not is another story.
There are known to be complications with the fight and Danny's manager Frank
Warren, who this week agreed a new managerial and promotional deal with the
British and Commonwealth champion, said he has been advised by Showtime, the
American cable network televising the show, to begin looking for alternative opponents.

DANNY WILLIAMS wants Tim
Witherspoon, two more fights
before the end of the year, then
a showdown with World Boxing
Organisation heavyweight champion
Wladimir Klitschko in the Spring.
After spending much of the last 12 months frustrated
by the dislocated shoulder he suffered in beating Mark
Potter, followed by a virus which wrecked a proposed
defence of his British and Commonwealth titles
against Mike Holden, that represents a serious plan to
make up for wasted time.
