BRITISH middleweight champion Herol Graham, Sheffield, cruised to
his 33rd consecutive win with a second-round cut stoppage of former
Argentine champion Roberto Ruiz, who replaced the original opponent
Don Bowers.
Ruiz turned away from Graham after an exchange along the ropes, and
gestured angrily to referee Roland Dakin that Graham had butted him.
Blood coursed down his face from a long vertical cut between his nose
and left eye, and he was clearly unhappy about the prospect of continuing.
Mr. Dakin looked at the injury and signalled the end,

UNBEATEN British light-welterweight champion Terry

1952, I came across my ratings of British boxers — over
1,000. There were around 50 in the heavyweight division.
Champion was Johnny Williams, followed by Jack Gardner,
Ray Wilding, Reg Andrews, Frank Bell and Tommy
Farr. Ted Morgan was one of four in the Four Star class,
and Ken Wyatt on of ten in the Three Star class.
